Little T and Me

21.06.2009: I'm a mother! Wow.. cannot believe it... My beautiful baby girl, Triyana, was born on the 2nd of May this year. Its been 1 month and 19 days of motherhood and her time on big bad earth!

She has changed so much these past few weeks. Her features have become more defined, she has more expressions now. She has started to coo and laugh! I didn't feel like a mother on Mothers' Day last month.. felt wierd when everyone wished me. But I do feel more like one today, on Fathers' Day!

My days have revolved around her. Feeding, changing nappies, giving her a bath, changing nappies, changing clothes, changing nappies, baby language, changing nappies, feeding her, putting her to sleep, changing nappies, feeding her...:))

I recommend motherhood. It has been frustrating at times but on the whole a very enriching experience that has taught me so much about myself. I did not know that I had so much energy in the middle of the night...

04.08.09: So Triyana turned over!! 4 days ago. She did it thrice and hasn't succeeded after that:) She now talks and talks. Shes a morning person - just like her father. The minute I wish her 'Guten Morning' (in my own silly sing-song way) she beams at me. Such a pleasure!

We've finally settled into a routine of sorts. She wakes up around 6.30 every morning and we lie in bed talking and playing for about half an hour. Then she is transferred to her chair (this blue rocker that has a vibrator as well - she used to fall asleep everytime I switched the vibrator on, but has become cleverer in the past 3 months) while I make tea for myself and coffee for Shravan. By the time I drink my tea, she's ready for a feed and then she falls asleep. That gives us time to finish up chores, chat, eat breakfast. Once she wakes up, it bath time! She kicks and plays as I rub oil over her body. She also likes it when we sing to her... my singing has improved tremendously, Shravan says. I think so too!! Anyway, T seems to like it and thats that! Hmm.. back to the topic. Shravan who is bathed and ready, takes T down to 'big house' (as we call my in-laws' place which is on the other side of the road) once she is bathed and ready. It is then my turn to get bathed and ready and run off to work.

Thats the morning, and the most eventful part of the day for most days.
